(EN below /ES abajo) Stjórn Pírata fordæmir harðlega brot Bandaríkjana á alþjóðalögum með árás á fullveldi Venesúela. Bandaríkin eru að endurtaka hættulegt stef fortíðar sinnar þar sem þau telja sig alsráðandi og ofan þeirra laga, samkomulaga og samninga sem sameinaðar þjóðir hafa gert sín á milli á þar til gerðum alþjóðlegum vettvangi og þar með grafa undir lýðræðislegum ferlum sem einkenna samfélag okkar í dag.
Píratar standa vörð um mannréttindi og sjálfsákvörðunarrétt þjóða og leggja áherslu á að þjóðir leysi ágreining með diplómatískum og gagnsæjum hætti. Hernaðaríhlutanir stórvelda fara gegn þessum grunngildum og stuðla hvorki að réttlæti né lýðræði og eru alfarið óréttlætanlegar.
Stjórn Pírata krefst þess að íslensk stjórnvöld ávarpi brot Bandaríkjana á alþjóðlegum vettvangi og krefjist snöggbúnum viðbrögðum gegn þessum ógnum mannréttinda og alþjóðaöryggis, og unnið verði markvisst að friðsamlegum lausnum sem stuðla að bestu lausn fyrir íbúa Venesúela með virðingu fyrir fullveldi þess.

Pirate Party Iceland strongly condemns the United States' violation of international law by attacking the sovereignty of Venezuela. The United States is repeating a dangerous pattern of its past, considering itself to be omnipotent and above international laws, conventions, and treaties that united and sovereign nations have made among themselves in the international arena. This blatant disregard not only attacks vital coexistence, it undermines the democratic processes that characterize our societies today.
Pirate Party Iceland defends human rights and the right of self-determination of peoples and nations everywhere. Pirate Party Iceland strongly emphasises that conflict resolution between states should be resolved through diplomatic and transparent processes. Illegal military interventions by global super powers violate these fundamental values, are unjustifiable, disregard the rule of law democracy, and undermine democracy.
The board of the Icelandic Pirates urge the Icelandic government to address the US violations on an international level and demand a swift response to these threats to human rights and international security, and ensure that work is done systematically towards peaceful resolution that contributes to the best outcomes for the people of Venezuela while respecting the country’s sovereignty.

El Partido Pirata de Islandia condena con fuerza la violación del derecho internacional por parte de Estados Unidos al atacar la soberanía de Venezuela. Estados Unidos repite un peligroso patrón de su pasado, considerándose omnipotente y por encima de las leyes, convenciones y tratados internacionales que naciones unidas y soberanas han suscrito entre sí en el ámbito internacional. Este flagrante desprecio no solo atenta contra la vital coexistencia, sino que socava los procesos democráticos que caracterizan a nuestras sociedades actuales.
El Partido Pirata de Islandia defiende los derechos humanos y el derecho a la autodeterminación de los pueblos y naciones de todo el mundo. El Partido Pirata de Islandia enfatiza firmemente que la resolución de conflictos entre Estados debe realizarse mediante procesos diplomáticos y transparentes.
