Sumarið hjá Pírötum í Norðvesturkjördæmi (PíNK) hefur verið rólegt en stöðugt. Reglulegir málefnafundir þar sem grunnurinn að stefnu fyrir næstu kosningar hefur verið lagður, ófá lagaþing þar sem ný gerð lög PíNK hafa verið fín pússuð og greinum bætt við eða teknar út.
Einnig fundaði stjórnin með og tók viðtöl við nokkra aðila:
Bændasamtök Íslands um garðyrkju og landbúnaðarkerfið varðandi byggðastefnu og nýliðun stéttarinnar.
Háskóla Íslands og Bifröst um fjarkennslu, tækifæri og vaxtarmöguleika.
ÍA og Vestri um íþróttir í Covid.
Og íbúa Árneshrepps um Hvalárvirkjun.
Við viljum hvetja öll þau sem hafa áhuga, hafið samband og dembið ykkur í umræðufundina!
Þau sem sérstakan áhuga hafa á að móta nýtt kjördæmafélag og koma að undirbúningi kosninga hafið samband! Okkur vantar fleiri heila í pottinn.
Einnig verður stofnuð kosningarnefnd sem að mun sjá um prófkjör og kosninga baráttu Pírata í Norðvesturkjördæmi.

PíNK mun bjóða upp á þétta fjarfundardagskrá í haust.
- Alla þriðjudaga klukkan 20:00 munu fara fram málefnafundir byrjandi 3.september með opnum málefnafundi þar sem orðið er laust. Eftir það munu fundirnir skiptast á opnum fundum þar sem orðið er frjálst og sérstökum málefnafundum þar sem afmarkað málefni verður rætt. Fyrsti þriðjudagur hvers mánaðar verður opin en hinir þriðjudagsfundirnir munu fjalla um einstaka málefni, samgöngur, heilbrigðismál, nýsköpun o.s.fv. verður tekið fyrir á hverjum fundi og stefna og áherslur PíNK fyrir næstu alþingiskosninga mótað og skráð á blað.
Fundirnir munu fara fram í fundar herberginu fundir.piratar.is/NVmalefni - Í hverjum mánuði verða haldnir viðtalsfundir. Á þeim mun PíNK bjóða fyrirtækjum, stofnunum, samtökum eða einstaklingum í samtal við grasrót PíNK. Markmið fundana er að fræðast um áherslur og aðstæður þeirra sem við tölum við. Fundarstjóri mun safna saman spurningum fyrir fundinn og byrja samtalið en svo opna á almenna fundagesti.
- PíNK mun bjóða upp á fjarkennslu í stjórnarháttum, fyrst verða skoðað störf alþingis og Þingmaður Pírata mun útskýra störf þingsins. Framhaldið verður sett upp eftir áhuga þátttakanda en mögurleiki væri að fara dýpra inn í Alþingi, skoða sveitastjórnar stigið, einstaka ráðuneyti, uppástungur frá þátttakendum eða allir þessir kostir. Fundirnir munu fara fram í fundar herberginu fundir.piratar.is/NVnamskeid

Píratar Í NorðvesturKjördæmi
Progress this summer and an overview of the coming months.
PiNK has had a quiet but steady summer. Regular policy meetings where groundwork for the next elections’ campaign policies has been laid, numerous laws in the new laws of PiNK have had fine tuning, articles added and/or taken out.
We also had meetings with numerous people, including one with the national farming association about bean, vegetable and fruit farming; as well as the agriculture system regarding recruitment of new farmers.
A meeting with the University of Iceland and University at Bifröst about remote teaching, opportunities and growth possibilities.
A meeting with ÍA and Vestri about sports in the time of Covid19.
Last but not least, we had a few meetings with the inhabitants of Árneshreppur about Hvalárvirkjun, a hydropower plant that was in the process of being built. Building has since been halted due to the pandemic.
We want to encourage all those who are interested, to get in touch with us and dive into our policy meetings. Those who have a special interest in building up our newly formed district chapter and in helping with preparations for the upcoming election, get in touch. We need more heads in the brain soup.
An election committee will be formed, it will oversee the primary process and then take the lead in campaign strategy for the next election. It is still open for nomination, we encourage you to nominate yourself or others that you think would be a good fit for the role at pink@piratar.is
PiNK will provide a tight remote program this fall.
- Every Thursday at 8 PM there will be association meetings, beginning on September 3rd. Starting with an open, informal meeting where any topic may be discussed. After that, alternating every other Thursday to more formal policy meetings where every meeting has a topic; be it healthcare, education, social safety nets etc. The issues discussed in those meetings will assist in building the campaign policy agenda for the next election. - Every month PiNK will host interview meetings where members of our board will invite businesses, institutions, nonprofits and individuals, for a discussion with the grassroots of PíNK. The goal will be to get to know and understand the priorities and reasoning behind the work of those we speak to each time. The chairman of the meeting will collect questions beforehand and start the meeting off by asking our guest/s those. Following that, the floor will open up to a more general discussion.
- PiNK will offer distance teaching in polity. Firstly we will examine and contemplate the work of parliament and a congressperson representative of the Pirate party will explain the inner workings of the Icelandic legislative assembly. Follow-up lessons will be determined by the interests of participants. Possible topics could include a deeper dive into the Icelandic legislative assembly, looking into the municipal levels of government, individual ministries and cabinets. Lesson proposals from participants are well received and the meetings will take place at fundir.piratar.is/NVnamskeid
- Informational meetings: When burning issues arise in our constituency, PiNK will host informational meetings to try and give the audience a clear and concise picture of the topic at hand. Due to the nature of these often divisive issues, this will be hard but PiNK intends on making an effort to do these meetings well. At the end of each meeting we will open the floor to questions from guests. These meetings will take place at fundir.piratar.is/NVupplysingar
